I love Amsterdam. I love the cozy cafes. I love the bike culture. I love the way the buildings along the canals are crooked seven ways to the weekend, which is actually a nightmare for a perfectionist photographer like me. But I didn’t want this test shoot to look like Amsterdam. No canals, no tulips — just vaguely European. Of course, it’s Amsterdam and a bike or two got through (seen here), and of course, that ended up being one of my favorite shots. What is this, a Scotch & Soda ad? — Me when I took that photo.
